Our team, led by our Founder and Owner John P. Sosa, MD, firmly believes in the importance of spending quality time with our patients. SOSA Medical Aesthetics was started so we can hear our patient’s stories, help them understand any illness, and work collaboratively with them to develop an evidence-based strategy that addresses the root causes of the problem.
Dr. Sosa is a proud native of suburban Detroit and is double Board Certified in Family Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine. He completed his undergraduate degree in Anthropology-Zoology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and went on to attend the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in St. Maarten.
He returned to the Detroit area and did three years of General Surgery residency at St. Joseph Mercy-Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, MI then moved on to a Family Medicine residency at Providence Hospital in Southfield, MI where he was Chief Resident his final year. He remained in the Detroit area for several years, working at urgent care centers, opening Blue Amber Medical Spa and then returned to doing primary care.
Dr. Sosa moved to Florida in 2009 to take a primary care position with BayCare Medical Group in Westchase, where he practiced comprehensive primary care to teens and adults for over nine years. In 2017, he was part of the inaugural class to become Board Certified by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. In 2019, he started Tampa’s first Direct Primary Care Lifestyle Medicine practice, SOSA Medical Aesthetics, where he passionately focuses on primary care, lifestyle transformation, medical weight loss, and minimally invasive aesthetics.
Dr. Sosa is an avid sports and movie enthusiast, fitness fanatic, he loves traveling, and follows a vegan diet. He and his wife, Kimberly, are the proud parents of four wonderful children in a blended family.

Jacqueline is a Virginia native and moved to Florida 6 years ago where, after graduating high school, she decided to pursue her passion for skincare and graduated from The Beauty and Health Institute, where she completed the Medical Aesthetician and Electrologist program and became Laser Certified. She has been doing laser hair removal and skin care in the Tampa area since graduation. Jacqueline’s goal is to make people feel comfortable in their own skin and help clients achieve their healthy skin goals.
Jacqueline will be doing laser hair removal with our InMode DiolazeXL laser, IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) with our InMode Lumecca device, and will oversee our BTL Body Boutique and Academic Center: EMSculpt NEO, EMFace, EMSella, and EMTone. She’ll also be doing medical spa services such as microneedling, facials, chemical peels, dermaplaning, and much more.
